A new VR arcade has opened in Liverpool. VR Here allows guests to rent 30 minutes of time in a virtual world using specially designed rooms, manned by staff who provide “support and guidance”.
The venue offers eight different virtual reality games, ranging from a peaceful solar system simulator to high intensity combat challenges.
“I have been dreaming up this business since I tried the first prototype of Oculus Rift in 2014”
The opening of VR Here marks the latest in a series of tentative steps taken by the UK market into this new sector. “I have been dreaming up this business since I tried the first prototype of Oculus Rift in 2014,” its co-founder Leszek Grzyl told the Liverpool Echo, “but only when Vive came out with its room scale gaming I have realised that this could be commercially viable.”
