Bacta’s West of England region will be the first stopping point for chief executive John White as he embarks on a month long tour, meeting members of the association throughout the country.

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he ten leg, coast to coast journey, which kicks-off at Grand Pier, Marine Parade, Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset on 6th September and ends at bacta’s North West region on 5th October, will provide members with an opportunity to raise any local and national issues which are impacting their business and receive an update from White on bacta’s strategy and shopping list as it fulfils its mandate to represent the industry, engaging with a broad cross section of politicians, influencers and decision makers.

Looking ahead to his month on the road, John White told Coinslot: “Trade associations such as bacta only exist in Coinslot Bacta John Whiteorder to represent their members.  As an organisation we are open and transparent and whilst I am accessible to any member at any time of the day, there’s nothing better or more effective than being able to meet face to face with those who are at the coal face in order to really gain an understanding of the issues they deal with on a day to day basis.  I am also very keen to receive any feedback from members on how they think we can do things differently, which includes identifying any areas of the operation where we need to raise our game.”

He added: “The political, social and economic landscape has changed significantly following the EU referendum and arising from these changes,  bacta’s job is to identify and pursue the best opportunities for our member organisations. I will be taking the opportunity to outline our thinking on a broad range of issues and topics we are involved with, encompassing tourism and harnessing the popularity of the ‘staycation’, manufacturing, exports, social responsibility, our consumer profiling and research projects, the work we have undertaken on self exclusion  and of course bacta’s triennial submission.

“The opportunity to meet with members informally is a highlight for me personally and one which I look forward to with great enthusiasm.”

John White’s bacta regional tour comprises: West of England (6th September),  Midlands (7th), Scotland (8th), Southern (12th), London and Home Counties (13th), Eastern (14th), South Wales (20th), Northern (28th), Yorks, Lincs and Humberside (29th) and North West (5th October).  For full meeting details please contact Parveen at the Bacta office on
